Among the list of premier golf courses in the entire United States, Hazeltine Golf Course has hosted the Ryder Cup in 2016 and is scheduled to host it in 2028. The Chaska Curling Center situated downtown is the National Training Center for USA Curling. Recipient of botanical accolades and the home of one of the top arboretums in the country is the University of Minnesota Arboretum.

Chaska is found 25 miles southwest of Minneapolis in Carver County. Around 1776 as Jonathan Carver was searching for a place to set up a trading post, he happened upon what's current day Chaska. Brick-making started out in 1857 due to the significant amounts of clay. Right up until the 1950s and 1960s, the city was a quiet farming community and only had a population of 2,000 individuals.
